Just a Dream

The fields and hills of pure white
Snow lay untouched in a scene so brilliant
That it was as if God had a paintbrush and
Done it right then and there.
A beautiful masterpiece did lay there in front
Of you
Framed in your view, you stand there as
Still as a statue unblinking, afraid that if you
Blink even once that beauty that surrounds you
Will vanish and you will merely be inside your
House sitting by the warm and cozy fire.

You pinch yourself to check that
This is not a dream.
Your Eskimo outer wear
Is keeping you warm, while the clear air
Of this secret place fills your lungs, and
Reminds you of the life that God made.

In your eye you see children sliding down
The slopes that were never touched by
Humans,
Until now.
Your eyes close and you fall back and
Land on the surprisingly soft snow.
All of the sudden you wake up to find
Yourself at home...
All warm and cozy underneath the massive
Amount of thick, soft blankets and quilts
That you've buried yourself under.
Was it all just a dream?

Pterodactyl

It soars through the air on mighty wings
Upraised.
In times that we never knew.
In the olden times of the beginning.

Its screech is heard from miles around
In the caverns and
Magnificent Canyons.
Up above in the sky.
Right above where we walk.
Its eyes are beady with fierceness
And stare from under
A wrinkled patch of skin
That suits them to perfection.

They roam the skies in search of something
Missing,
The fierce Pterodactyl

Mighty Eyes Stare Into The Midnight Sky

Up above in the night sky
Mingled with the bright and twinkling,
Where its scales and veins,
Even its features of mightiness
Are shown,
No expressed
As its beauty is reflected back into the
Village below
While it is perched on the cliff's edge
Staring with eyes wide and glowing,
Turquoise blue into the sky.

When suddenly wings of might outstretched
It takes to the midnight sky.

It circles to show its power and I feel
The wind rushing past my face, taking my
Hair back, my breath away, but not the
Warmth.
For from within this creature
Is a fire burning that keeps those
Around, in a blanket of warmth when cold
Tries to attack.

It lands back on its perch,
As I get off and stand next to
It I look into one of its scales,
And catch my reflection next to this
Mighty Dragon staring into the sky.

The Artist's Eye

The master artist
Puts detail to the eye
Of mightiness
Upon the paper of the sky.

There is the eye with master
Craftiness
That was sketched and thought and
Mulled upon.
To finish with great detail.

With its sword it catches
The branches and clouds that it falls
Through,
As it sharpens its edge
It cuts the edge of the clouds
And shakes the rain, snow, sleet, and hail out from within their fluffy covering.
It encourages the leaves to fall in
Autumn,
And sends the whispers of spring among the
Fields and Willow trees;
When the heat starts the warning of summer
It stands there unblinking while all the little people
Run into the cool of shadows and buildings to be
Wrapped amongst a chilly blanket.
And when the cold of winter comes and crouches
At your door
The ever present eye is there to warn you
To bundle up warmly in your jackets, hats,
Scarves, and mittens to keep the cold winds
Away from your skin.
The ice may still form upon your window
And the snow will still fall.
Slowly, drifting, wafting through the
Air till it reaches the ground and settles in
Its new home.

God creates the artist's eye and the
Mind with which makes the pictures
That cause the artistry to be.

That eye that came from a thought or
Started with something seen;
God created the first one out of dust
And not from ink or pencil.
